Longarm Quilting
Services
Calliope Quilting offers longarm edge-to-edge quilting to put the final touches on your projects. With a 12ft frame, we are able to take quilts of any size, from baby to king size quilts. We will also consider special projects, such as tablecloths, runners, place settings and more. Custom work will be considered based on the project and availability.
Below is a list of prices for services and how to prepare your project for quilting. Once you are ready, please contact us to discuss your vision for the project. Please schedule a free consultation which can be conducted via zoom, by phone, or face-to-face which will be scheduled at a convenient location for all.
Quilt Repair
Do you have a family heirloom that needs some loving attention or restorations? There is value and special memories attached to things like a quilt that has been passed down. As well, they should be used but time takes its toll. If you have one that needs some TLC, let's meet to look at what is needed to see if we can bring it back to life and pass it on to the next generation.
Pricing for edge-to-edge quilting
- $0.02 per sq. inch for loose, meandering design
- $0.025 per sq. inch for moderate designs
- $0.03 to $0.035 per sq. inch for tight, complex patterns
- $50.00 minimum fee
Pricing for custom quilting - will be entertained on a quilt-by-quilt basis and availability
- $0.04 per sq. inch and up depending on quilt size, multiple patterns, and the complexity
- $75.00 minimum fee
Thread
We use quality threads, such as Omni, So Fine, Glide, and Innovatech
- Bobbin pricing is included in the thread price.
Batting
It's recommended to use quality batting to get the best results. The following products are offered, and price may vary based on the size of the project.
- Warm & Natural - $9.45 linear yd.
- Warm 100 - $7.25 linear yd.
- Warm & White -$10.00 linear yd.
- Warm 80/20 - $7.30 linear yd.
Preparing your project
It is important that a project is ready to go for a faster turn-around time.
How to prepare?
- All seams should be pressed in place where you want them to be.
- Trim ALL thread tails to avoid getting caught up in the quilting process.
- The backing should be 8 to 10 inches longer & 8 or 10 inches wider than the top (4 to 5 inches all the way around).
- Do not baste or pin the top, batting, and backing together. Each piece is loaded on the machine separately.
- Bindings - if you wish to have the binding attached, the pieces must be sewn in one long strip to fit with overage, pressed and folded to 2 1/2 inches wide.
- Additional fees may apply, up to $25.00 an hour for:
- Additional preparation (as listed above)
- Binding
- Quilt repairs
We reserve the right to decline a project that we believe may not be completed to your satisfaction for any reason.
